Conferator - A Social Conference Management System

About

Conferator is a social and ubiquitous conference guidance system, aiming at supporting conference participants during conference planning, attendance, and their post-conference activities. It features the ability to manage social and face-to-face contacts during the conference and to support social networking.

Datasets

For research purposes we offer a dataset that contains temporal networks of contacts between conference participants. Before you get access to the datasets, you have to sign up our license agreement and send it via fax to our office. Additionally, we would like to ask you to subscribe to the Ubicon-Research mailing list. Upon receipt of your faxed license agreement, we will approve the subscription request and in the welcome mail you will get instructions on how to access the dataset.

The datasets were collected during several academic conferences, where we deployed the Conferator application. We ask each participant to wear active RFID devices that can sense and log the close-range face-to-face proximity of the individuals wearing them, up to a range of about 1.5 meters. This allows us to map out time-resolved networks of face-to-face contacts among the conference attendees. In the provided datasets no personal data are released.

Contact List. Each provided dataset contains a list of all recorded face-to-face contacts between conference participants Each line has the form id1;id2;tsfrom;tstill, which means that a face-to-face contact between participant id1 and participant id2 was active during the time intervall [tsfrom;tstill].
